Costume Party

Grayson and Jessie enjoyed a night of festivities at the taekwondo school tonight. Grayson was in full costume as DARTH MAUL (not the devil) and Jessie as Hannah Montana. I was very suprised when Grayson won 'best costume'.

Dante won most original costume - you don't see many toilets running around!

Pumpkin Fairy

The Pumpkin Fairy came to Primrose today and told magical stories to the kids. Jessie had a fabulous time listening to the fairy (also known as Miss Vanesa!) and planting magical pumpkin seeds. Tomorrow is the costume parade and the kids will get to see if their seeds grew pumpkins! How fun!!

The Big Party!

Well, we did it. We pulled off the suprise party for my mom this weekend. All I can say is that I am exhausted. We flew out Friday, had the party on Saturday and came back home today. It was a whirlwind trip but worth it. Lot's of folks came to the Football/Birthday party that we held in Shane's garage. Everything was planned around not only celebrating mother's 60 years, but around the Alabama/Tennessee game too. We had a custom jersey made for her with her name on the back and the number 60 on it. We also made a movie of old pictures that we watched at the beginning of the party. Shane grilled burgers and hot dogs. We had a cake and roasted marshmallows for desert. The day was filled with fun, family and football. 'Bama beat Tennessee in an awesome game Saturday night. I got to see some of my family that I haven't seen in years and meet my cousin Brad's daughter, Alyssa. My friend Wendy of nearly 30 years brought her two kids. After all, she might as well be family. All in all it was a great weekend. Mother was really surprised. I can't believe no one let it slip that this was happening!! There are several pictures below documenting all the fun! Happy Birthday Frances!

Family Snapshots

A Few More Family Moments

Aunt Val, Mom, Aunt Carol and the kid who wants to be in every picture, Grayson!

All the girls from the Biggs side plus my mom

Kasey and me - football rivals but we love each other!

I love my Lisa! Check out the trash can that kept lurking around. No matter where we moved it, it seemed to end up in our picture background!

Probably the 3 craziest gals at the party!

Harley Pics

Harley Rides

The activity of the day was taking rides on Shane's Harley Sportster. I'm not sure who had more fun, the adults or kids! Shane was scared to take Jessie because she is so little, but she held on tight and loved every minute of it. Lisa and Kendall were too chicken to try it! Come on guys, even the 4 year old wasn't afraid!!! Thanks Shane.

Marshmallow Roast

There is nothing better than roasting marshmallows on a chilly night. Shane was master of all things fire related! After grilling all afternoon, he helped the kids with roasting. Jessie likes to roast, but won't eat the finished product. I ate more marshmallows than most people have in a lifetime!

We've Arrived in 'Bama

It was so great to see CJ and Natalie when we finally got to Birmingham. The kids had a blast playing together Friday night.

CJ ran toward the camera!

Sharing Halloween cookies with Lucie the dog

Finally, time for lights out. They all had to sleep together in Natalies room!

Hangin' out with Pappaw and Nani

Kendall's parents were so nice to drive to Birmingham Friday to spend a couple of hours with us for dinner. They had been in Thailand for 2 weeks and just returned home earlier that day!! We met at the Cracker Barrell to eat and let the kids get their 'Pappaw and Nani fix'. These kids are so lucky to have such good grandparents!

Playing the peg game at Cracker Barrell. Pappaw is so patient!

First time on a plane...

Heading to Alabama Friday was Jessie's first time to fly. Grayson, being the experienced flier that he is (and excellent big brother) grabbed her hand and said "come on Jessie, this is exciting, you will love it!". When we boarded, he looked at Jessie in front of the flight attendant and said "this is where all the fun starts!". It was really cute and the flight attendant cracked up! I was so proud of Jessie on her first flight. She was such a good girl!

Well, this was taken back in July, but I thought I would post it since it is the only picture I have of my mom with Jessie and me. My hair looks like a rooster!

Cub Scout Carnival

Tonight was the Cub Scouts annual Halloween carnival. Several of the kids wore their costumes. Grayson is Darth Maul this year. There were about 6 other Star Wars characters there tonight.

I surrender!
Football Frenzy!
Pumpkin hockey!
Ring of fire!
Nothing like 'sugaring' the kids up at 7 pm on a school night!

Who U Gonna Vote For???

For weeks Grayson has been saying he would vote for Obama. Kendall and I want the kids to have their own opinions about things, so we just tell him that it is good that he is interested in the Presidential campaign. However, when we ask why he would vote for Obama, he says it's because he likes his skin color. Well, Thursday Grayson came home saying he has changed his mind and he is voting for McCain! Again, we asked why. He said that Obama wants to take money from some people and give it to other people. He said that he doesn't want Obama to take our money because Kendall and I work hard for our money!! Wow. Pretty good insight from a 7 year old. I responded, "That's right. We are Republican and we don't share well!". Probably not the best response I could have given, but it's the truth.

It's a Family Tradition

Every October since Grayson was 4 months old, we have visited the pumpkin patch at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Coppell. This year was no different. After church we headed on over to check out all the pumpkins.

The kids were excited to bring their little pumpkins home and paint them! They are just too small for carving!
