In all the ways you can, In all the places you can,
At all the times you can, To all the people you can,

Check out my new ride...

Both of the kids got new bikes today. It was a beautiful day outside and they enjoyed riding up and down the street with their friends. Grayson outgrew his bike months ago and has been saying he wanted a new one. Our plan was to get him on for his birthday, but after a girl made fun of him about being on a little bike, we decided to go ahead and replace it. It was pretty sad watching my 6 1/2 year old ride a peewee bike, so I am glad we upgraded. Of course, Jessie can't be left out!!

HAPPY EASTER! HE IS RISEN!

We are so happy to celebrate another Easter season. Grayson and Jessie woke up excited to see that the Easter Bunny had not forgotten them. Check out Jessie's hair! There may be some bunnies hiding in there!

After a wonderful service at church, we had lunch at Beth and Steve Sheetz house. Like every major holiday, they allow us to crash their family gatherings since our families are in Alabama. The kids hunted eggs and we stuffed ourselves with ham, pineapple, green beans and coconut cake!
We really appreciate our "family away from family".

Our First Camp Out!

Spring Break was the week of March 17. We didn't take a big, week long trip, but we did go tent camping. Yes, tent camping. Let's just say we learned a lot that will help us on our next camping adventure. Like take an air mattress, bring extra blankets, don't forget pillows, pack more than one pair of clothes for the kids because someone will end up wet...I hope I can talk Kendall in to doing this again!
We only camped one night - Thursday. We went with our friends, the Benge family - Jason, Stacy, Mason and Jackson. As soon as we pulled up there was another family from Coppell that we knew at the site right next to us. Small world. Well, not really. We were just in Grapevine at the Vineyards Campground. They had 3 more kids to add to the mix, one was a second grade little girl (Lauren) that Grayson fell in love with instantly. He has added her to his list of girlfriends. They all had a blast!

We borrowed a tent from Eric and Rosemond who are avid campers. Eric was leary to lend us the tent since he knew we were camping amateurs. Luckily, Jason camps all the time and helped me with setting up the tent. As you can see from the pictures, it took more than one try! It was VERY windy and we had to use fishing line to secure the tent to the tree behind us. Eric swears we just didn't put the tent up the right way.

Later that evening, we roasted weiners and marshmellows. I have never seen kids who didn't like roasted marshmellows! But of course, mine didn't. They preferred to just throw things in the fire and watch them burn.
It was really cold that night. We sat by the fire as long as could and finally snuggled in to our sleeping bags. Actually, I wouldn't call it snuggling because we were on a hard ground Before you know it, Grayson is waking up because he peed in his sleeping bag!! So, he shared with me after that. (And I didn't sleep!). Around 3 am Jessie woke up needing to poop! I will spare you the rest of the details, but she ended up in Kendall's sleeping bag. I was so glad to see the sun come up! That meant I could make a fast run to Whataburger for coffee and a warm breakfast!

We spent the morning wrapped in blankets around the fire. Kendall cuddled with Jason to keep warm!! Finally, when we were able to shed the blankets and jackets we had an Easter egg hunt for the kids around the lake. The adults humored the kids by trying the hool-a-hoop. We played and ate candy until lunch time and it was time to pack up and go. We ended our camping adventure with burgers from Fudruckers.

Fun times!! We hope to have another fun trip with the Benge's soon!

Addyson Turns One!!

March 22, 2008. Happy Birthday Baby Addyson! Jessie had fun playing with her little friend. Of course the boys had a great time doing what boys do - climbing in the tree!!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

For the second time this week, it snowed in Dallas! Before it all turns to ice, we had to build our snowman. He's kinda cute, huh? It was a lot of fun until Jessie's gloves got too wet and her hands started freezing. Then she ran in to the garage and slipped and fell. Oh well, it's not all fun and games all the time!

Career Change

Well, I started my new job today at ARKRAY. They are a manufacturer of diabetic glucose monitors. I will still be selling to nursing homes, so I will still be in my comfort zone somewhat. I did the administrative training today and I am a bit overwhelmed. I know it will be a great job once I get going, but I guess I have forgotten how stressful starting over can be. Afterall, I was with Novartis for eight years. I certainly realize how much I took for granted that I knew it all!!

My Handsome Husband...

Kendall had his annual employee awards banquet tonight. For the past few years he has provided the entertainment. He dresses like Michael Jackson, The Blues Brothers, Right Said Fred and sings and dances. Yes, Kendall sings and dances. In front of about 700 people I might add! It is so fun and funny to watch. Prior to the show he is dressed in a tux to do announcements, etc. Take a look at my super sexy husband! (You can tell by his stance he thinks he is sexy!)
