Memorial Day Weekend...

What a weekend! We went camping again at Grapevine Lake and had a blast. Friday and Saturday nights we slept in a cabin with the Higgs family. Sunday night we share the RV (aka "the bus") with the Riveras. The Benges and Shifletts pitched tents. They are the real campers! There were 17 of us all together plus the extra visitors that came by to cookout with us. The Campbells and Dolezels came to fry fish and swim in the lake. Speaking of the lake - it was nasty!! The kids loved it though. There was a lot of mud and slime which the boys were very interested in. Michelle and David took the kids out on the 2 man boat while the rest of us relaxed in lawn chairs.

Jessie's favorite part of the weekend was roasting marshmallows. Grayson's favorite was fishing and swimming. I caught the first catch of the day on Jessie's rod - a Spongebob pole!! All the kids caught at least one fish. Kendall's favorite part was throwing the football w/ 2 NFL guys and 1 arena ball QB. He held his own and actually impressed Clint Dolezel. That's a pretty good compliment coming from the number 1 QB in arena ball history!! I enjoyed it all. Just being with friends, Kendall and the kids was exactly what I wanted this weekend.

Most of our time was spent around the picnic tables watching the kids run around with water guns and water balloons. And of course, there was no shortage of food. We had all the campground necessities - hot dogs, burgers, salads, chips, cookies and s'mores. The diet plan starts tomorrow!Happy Memorial Day, or as Jessie says "oreo day".
