As long as ever you can." -John Wesley

ICE! At the Gaylord Texan with Nani and Pappaw

It is so hard to believe that all of these wonderful sculptures are made of ice!!! The theme this year was Dr. Seuss's The Grinch. We all had so much fun despite the fact that it was only 12 degrees in there!!! As a matter of fact, Kendall and I are the one's who wanted to keep going down the ice slides!!!

GNO Annual Christmas Dinner at Pappa's!!!!

8 years ago Niki and I started a little tradition of "girls only" at Pappa's Steak House for Christmas. Over the years we added new girls and even lost one in the group, but no matter what, the tradition continues. This is a WONDERFUL group of gals that I am so proud to call my friends.

Niki and Donna

Now, you may be wondering why I have a box of detergent on my head with toilet paper in the photo below...well, Donna knows my love of Alabama football and brought me a "good luck" gift in due to the upcoming National Championship game against Texas...ROLL TIDE ROLL! Yep, I wore it in a 5 star restaurant!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS

The Theaux Family hosted a Happy Birthday Jesus party one Sunday afternoon before Christmas. Kendall volunteered (with a little help from me!) to read the story to the kids. Of course, Jessie had to be right in the middle of it all! Thank you Katie for hosting a wonderful time!

These two were loving the cake!

Our "Special Family" Food Basket

Each year before Christmas the church does an outreach project where we can provide baskets of food items to families in need. Jessie was very involved with helping me fill a basket this year. We bought the food on our weekly grocery store run to Wal-Mart. I read off the items on the list and made her "in charge" of keeping those items separate from our groceries. Every time we pulled something off the shelf, she would ask if it was for our "special family"! I hope that she learns early that no matter what our needs or wants, there is always someone with a greater need than us.

Pancake Breakfast!!

The weekend before Christmas we had some of the high school girls from our youth group over for a pancake pajama breakfast and a Christmas sock exchange!! Thankfully Erin volunteered to make the pancakes :)! And of course the "not so high school" kids joined in too!!

Sunday School Class Christmas Party

DEC 11 - our annual Christmas Party with the most wonderful Sunday School class! We have been in this class for 10 years! The group has changed over the years, but is always a great group. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the whole party - I really hated to miss the ornament exchange. Church group or not, the exchange always leaves us talking!

Shane and his famous ugly sweater!!

Ummmm, Shane, we are praying...!

A Saddle Tree Trail Christmas!

DEC 11 - as if one party wasn't enough...we headed on over to our neighborhood party. I love my street and the people who live around me. We always have fun when we are together. Thank you God for such a great neighborhood!!

Christmas By Candlelight

On December 10, FBC hosted our annual outreach dinner for women. I was blessed to be on the committee again. It is so much fun working with all of these wonderful women, puttting together such an awesome event. Kerri Pomerolli was our speaker - can I just say she is SO FUNNY!? Aside from organizing our door prizes, I hosted a table and invited some friends who don't go to our church. I had a full table and it was great! We are already making plans for this year's event!

My table...

Lynee and me...my partner for decorating snowflakes for the stage! Boy did we bond that night. We were there until 11 p.m. the night before. By that time, we were both very silly...

SPIRIT DAY - December 18, 2009

Christmas break starts today so what better way to celebrate at school than with SPIRIT DAY?!!!
The third graders decorated cowboy hats for the event. The gymnasium was filled with over excited kids (and parents!). Jessie and I had a great time listening to the cheers and chants from all the kids. It made Jessie  even more excited to start kindergarten next school year!

The teachers got in to the fun too. We really have the BEST teachers at Wilson!

Third Grade won the spirit stick!!
