PEACE BEGINS WITH A SMILE...

"Do all the good you can, By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can, In all the places you can,
At all the times you can, To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can." -John Wesley

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Eric likes to joke on me about my obsession with vacuuming the floor! Jessie has recently discovered the hand held vac and insists on cleaning with it as much as possible! She is also wearing my shoes in this picture. Ironic or what?

My Friends

I have so many friends and I am so lucky!! This is Shari and Stacy with me on Saturday night at the Sky Bar in Grapevine.

Cathy's Baby Shower - 3rd Girl

My friend Cathy Petersen is having her 3rd baby girl next month. Jeanine and I gave her a small shower at Magnolia Cafe on Saturday. We can't wait to meet Delaney Francis Petersen!!

For I know the plans for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give a a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

BRUISER

Jessie had a fight with the shower on Thursday and the shower won! She is fine, just an ugly bruise on her chin. So much for the pictures we were going to have made on August 2nd!

Jason Powell

We said good-bye to a loyal member of our Sunday School class yesterday. Jason Aaron Powell was laid to rest and we were fortunate enough to attend the memorial service or "celebration of life" as his family so lovingly called it. And they were right! Jason led a wonderful life in his 25 years on this earth. It was amazing to see how many people he touched. His love for Christi, Jack, his family, friends and Jesus was so apparent during the service. Jason is in a better place now, we all know that. What a great feeling to know that not only will we see him again one day, but all of our loved ones who are faithful in Christ.

God Puts People in Our Lives for a Reason...

I truly believe this. I am exposed to many different people everyday and I am thankful for that. Lately I have really been aware of all of the special people in my life and what they do for me. I have some great friends!!! I won't attempt to name them all for fear of leaving someone out and hurting feelings. (Thank goodness I don't have to accept an Acadamy Award!) But to have so many people who support my decisions, pray for me, listen to me whine or cry, laugh with me, get mad with me and share in the good times, I am truly blessed. If you are reading this, I am sure you are one of those people. Please know that I do not take for granted anything that you do for me. Thank you for being there. Thank you, God, for blessing me with great people!

Backyard Playtime

Thanks for coming over to play in the backyard today Grace! We had a great time with you~

A New "Do" for Grayson

Grayson has begged for months to get a mohawk and I always say no. This time I said yes and took him to get one. Kendall didn't really want him to have it, but what the heck? It's only hair and it's summer so he might as well have a little fun!

The lady at the salon didn't cut it short enough, so when Eric and Rosemond came over tonight, Eric got the clippers and a razor and took it to the skin! Grayson LOVES it. Kendall, not so much. I, however, am officially the coolest mom ever according to Grayson! Jessie is almost 4 and has never had a haircut! Oh the irony!

Fireworks and Picnic

Coppell celebrated the 4th with their annual picnic in the park and fireworks show on Thursday night. The Higgs joined us for some food and fireworks. By looking at the pictures, you would think it was a great time. But if I am honest, it was not so fun. Jessie was in one of her "moods" and complained about almost everything. She didn't want a turkey sandwich, she was mad that I didn't bring her extra granola bars and she insisted on feeding our food to the ducks. When we left the park we went over to the Benge's house where our car was parked. We hung out with them in their yard for a while and Jessie ended the night with vomiting all over Kendall. She wasn't sick, just needed to puke! After stripping her clothes off, she was fine and played the rest of the night.

Taekwondo Testing

Grayson successfully tested for his Red Belt on Thursday night. It was down to the wire on this one. He earned his final stripe about an hour before testing. Whew!! Our friend Stacy tested for her Black Belt too. Congratulations to both of them for moving up in rank!

Camp Kookabura

Grayson has spent this week at Camp Kookabura, a YMCA camp. Today, they had "Gladiator Games" and competed against Camp Mission and Camp at the Ranch. Parents were invited to have a picnic lunch with the campers.

Primrose Parade

Primrose had a 4th of July parade today. The kiddos got to decorate their bikes and ride around the parking lot. I tried to sneak up and watch but Jessie caught me! She cried when she realized I wasn't taking her home with me. She spent most of the parade in tears. I had to bribe her with popcicles and fireworks to get her to participate!!

Check out the crying face!
