Bright Beginnings Pre K Graduation

Another Pre-K graduation for Jessie! Last year Primrose, this year Bright Beginnings at FBC Coppell. Next year...KINDERGARTEN!!! Woooohooo! The kids did a great job of singing and showing us everything they learned. Miss Brenda and Miss Lynette were awesome teachers and we will miss them dearly. Are you kidding me, both kids in elementary school next year???

Crawfish, Crawfish, Crawfish Boil!

Saturday night we attended a crawfish boil with several friends! The kids played with the crawfish and then threw them in the pot to boil...eeeewww! Both kids tried it, said they liked it, but opted for hot dogs and hamburgers instead. Jessie loved peeling them and serving them to the other guests!

OH SO PRETTY!

Cub Scout Bears become Weebelos

Grayson and the crew crossed over from Bears to Weebelos this weekend. The requirements for scouts gets intense this next year!

FIELD DAY 2010

Jessie and I joined Grayson and the rest of Wilson Elementary for the 2010 Field Day and Family Picnic! The kids were soaking wet after a morning of water games. He loved hanging out with his teacher, Ali Sanabria, and his friends! The school year is quickly coming to a close!

Don't Stop Believing!

The 2009-2010 Wilson Ranger Choir has come to an end. They held their final performance at Valley Ranch Baptist Church on Thursday. Of course they didn't disappoint! Grayson rocked out to "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. Everyone was laughing and clapping at his dance moves! Especially since he was the only one in the choir to do so! Afterward, we celebrated at Rosa's Tortilla Factory with some of our choir buddies!

WILSON RANGER CHORALE COMPETITION

130 kids, Mr. Hansen, Sandy Lake Amusement Park and me = Wilson Ranger Chorale Choir Competition! What a day. The kids performed early in the day - SCORED A 1 (highest rank you can get) and then played in the amusement park until lunch! Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, mini Roller Coaster....and pizza! Only one kid in my group almost puked!! Thankfully, he didn't! It was a long, hot day but worth it! We are so proud of this group of kids and their super, duper choir teacher, Mr. Hansen!!

Third Grade Economics Fair

Whew! We made it through the Economics Fair! Here's the idea...they come up with a company idea, name, and product to sell. All of the third grade does this. They marketed their product to the entire school. They even made prototypes and got feedback as to whether or not the product would sell for the price they were asking! Grayson came up with the idea for the boys to pitch in some legos and they built "mini lego sets" to sell. They assembled the item, took a picture of it, put it in a Ziploc bag and stapled the pic to the outside of the bag so the customer would know what they were getting. Prices ranged from $.50- $2.50, depending on how big the set was. They had to keep a Profit and Loss sheet that included their outgoing expenses. Grayson, Hudson and Nikheil came in second place making over $86.00!! Their company sold "Legos and cupcakes"!

WILD ANIMALS!

Fundraiser for a Wildlife Sanctuary in Oklahoma...the kids loved petting this little tiger!

Career Day

Kendall spoke to Grayson's third grade class on May 12 about his career. They are gearing up for the Economics Fair, learning about budgets, spending reports, supply/demand, etc...

Principal for a Day!

Grayson was Principal on May 10. Needless to say he loved it! As soon as he arrived at school he was shown his own desk and laptop in the office. Below is a copy of the email I received from his principal later that day...

A Mother's Day Treat

The kids treated me to Tappy's Yogurt on Mother's Day after they insisted that we cook hotdogs and sausage on the grill for dinner...yum (ok, not my favorite!) Just because it was Mother's Day doesn't mean it was about me!!

Girls, Dolls and Tea

Our sweet friend, Mrs. Sallye Bales, hosted a tea party for her granddaughter and friends on Saturday. The girls brought their dolls and wore fancy dresses! It was a fun time of girl talk, lemonade, tea, cookies, cakes and fruit! It was so cute to see these 5 and 6 year old girls with such good manners! What sweet memories...

My Mothers Day Quilt

It may not look like much to most, but this is one of the few things that I have from my grandmother (Nanny). Kendall agreed to let me have this quilt/blanket finished for Mothers Day. It started off as a quilt topper. A friend of mine finished the edging and completed some "touch up" work on it. Maybe it's not the most beautiful thing that most have seen, but it is absolutely one of my most treasured possessions! As it hangs on the wall in our home office, I will think of my nanny every time I look at it! I love it so much!

KENTUCKY DERBY

Big hats, Mint Juleps, Bar-BQ, great friends, and a little gambling = The Kentucky Derby. We had a fantastic time at the Kilgo's house with our friends. The gals all dressed "derby style" in our cute hats, the kids played in the pool and the guys watched meat cook to perfection on the grill! We now have another "annual party" to add to our list. My horse (Ice Box) didn't win, but what fun we had cheering for these incredible animals! Thanks to all who made it happen...Joe and Leslie, our host/hostess and Lynnwood Harris our "bet master" for organizing our unofficial gambling!
