Good Times in Green Bay

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in Green Bay, wear cheese on your head!

What a weekend! I never would have thought that we could have had so much fun in Green Bay, Wisconsin! The weekend was filled with LOTS of food, LOTS of people and LOTS of fun! So, here's LOTS of pictures documenting out great time.

This is the Soulek's house where we stayed. Kassie and Scott are wonderful hosts. Not only is the house gorgeous, but it is cozy too.

Dustin took me on a tour through town on his Harley. The leaves were already turning colors and it was so pretty. The bike ride was a ton of fun!

See what I mean about a lot of food!!

We ate enough cheese to feed an army! I think our bodies are still digesting all the cheese. Our new favorite food is fried cheese curds!

There is nothing better than hanging out with your friends!

This is Kassie, our hostess for the weekend!
Kendall and Megan (Meg Pie)

Barb (one of the funniest people we've ever met) and Scott

Shari, you're in the trunk!

Napping after a late night!

Jimmy is officially my new best friend! I love this dog. He's like a person. I had never heard of a Vizsla until I met him but I definately want one.

Our trip to the Pro Shop at Lambeau Field was fun.

We're off to the game in our private bus! It was like a limo on
the inside - really cool!

Tailgating...
More food...

This is Kim, our waitress at the Local Diner in Coppell. She's from WI - it was nice to run in to her up there!
THE VIEW FROM OUR BOX SEATS!

All good things must come to an end. Green Bay was fun and I would go back without hesitation! By the way - Dallas won. GO COWBOYS!

Minnesota

Last week I spent a few days in Minnesota for training. The weather was great! We learned a lot and ate a lot! Below are a couple of my buddies from work...

Hot Stuff!

Grayson loves spicy food and tonight he was brave enough to to try the Blazin' Hot Sauce at Buffalo Wild Wings!!! He immediatly reached for the water afterwards!

GOOD BYE MISS CRYSTAL

Today was a bitter sweet day at FBC Coppell. Miss Crystal is leaving after 17 years of service in the children's department to pursue another opportunity in Port Arthur, TX. She has practically raised all of the kids in our church. She is excellent with babies - many of us have called her 'the baby whisperer' due to her knack for calming screaming kids! We will certainly miss her and wish her the best.

The good news about today was that Clayton officially preached his first sermon as senior pastor. He is truly fabulous and we are so excited to have him. It was so awesome to see such a crowd in the sanctuary today!

HAPPY 40TH KIKI!

Our dear friend Kiki celebrated his 40th birthday tonight! We had another great time together at Daddy Jack's. Just in case you are wondering, the necklace he has on says 'Over the Hill!'

All the girls with the birthday boy!

Church Socials...

Once a month our church provides free childcare to the Sunday school classes so that each class can organize a social together. It is fabulous. Sometimes we go out to eat or cookout at someone's house. We've been bowling, held relay races, watched football games together. There is always a lot of food involved! The fabulous part is that we get 3 hours of uninterupted adult time!! No "mom, mom, can I have snack?", or "I want to watch Spongebob not football!". The kids have a blast too playing games and watching movies at the church.

So, last night our class got together to eat, of course, and play catch phrase and ping pong in the youth center. Now, I am not a game playing person and it took me about 3 rounds to understand what I was supposed to do. I kept yelling answers for the guys team! It was kind of fun hearing the crazy answers we all gave trying to guess the correct word or phrase!!

Kendall and Clayton played several games of ping pong only stopping because they are both so competitve and couldn't stand losing. They tied, winning 2 games each. Clayton says no one has beaten him in 5 years until Kendall did last night. Kendall says he hasn't been beaten in 10 years! Oh the male ego!!

Kendall - telling Clayton "it was on!"

How 'bout that lasagna, Chris?

We see you going back for seconds Eric!!

Welcome to the class Wootens!

Kids Playing at Church

The object of this game was to chase the other kids and smash their balloons! Yes, the balloons are tied to their ankles! Sounds dangerous, huh? Well, it was fun to watch and the kiddos had a blast at the Back to School Bash!

Who's Hungry?

Big Boys and Basketball

Kendall and some of his buddies joined the YMCA 30 and over basketball league for the fall. Kendall had to take a little break before the end of the game to stretch out! They were all so tired, but played great. They won 60-40.
Meet my wonderful friend, Carrie. She likes Coach bags, wine and dinner at Steve Field's as much as I do!

Silly Girls

After church today we hung out with our new pastor and his family (the Coates) along with Rosemond and Grace. We did what we do best - WE ATE! The girls thought it would be funny to make masks out of their tortillas. Clayton and Allison are great people and their kids are precious. I am so glad we have them in our church and I can't wait to see what good things come from having a new senior pastor.

Hangin' with friends (and staff) of Fat Daddy's!

No Bobby, the fat kid eating the sandwich does not look like you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY!

Daddy Jack's is always a great place for a birthday party! We wish you many more Cathy!

Some Favorite Websites

Okay, for those of you who know me well, know that I am VERY loyal to small businesses. Maybe because my dream is to own my own small business. Maybe because because I really do believe in the American dream of being your own boss. Maybe it's the unsurpassed customer service you get from small business owners. Nonetheless, here are a few of my favorites. Go ahead and click on each link. You will be just as happy as me to get to know these incredible entrepreneurs~! From photogrophy to landscaping to cool clothing, beverages and real estate...they all rock. There will be more added soon!

Saddle Tree Trail - Ladies Night

Tonight was our monthly 'Ladies Night' for the gals of Saddle Tree Trail. Several of us met at Poorva's house for snacks and wine. I love where I live! God has put us here in this house, in this neighborhood, around these people for a reason and I am thankful for that!

ROLL TIDE!

BAMA beat Clemson this weekend 34-10 in the Georgia Dome. Take that ACC! The SEC rocks!!! We love college football!

Camping - Labor Day Weekend

Another camping trip goes down in the books. However, there were no tents this time, so I don't know what you call it when everyone sleeps in cabins or RVs. We made memories none the less.

  • Jason broke his favorite outdoor chair
  • bee stings
  • roasting marshmallows
  • campers next to us almost burned the campground down
  • swimming in the lake
  • fishing
  • boating
  • bar b que
  • Shari's potato salad
  • hundreds of rides in the golf cart
  • lots of chips and dips
  • trouble making kids
  • wooden airplanes
  • head lamp flashlights (brilliant!)
  • sunburn
  • cut toes
  • stinky dead rat under the cabin
  • sweat!

Oh the good times!! I think the video scroll below says enough. I can't wait until the fall when we can curl up around the campfire in our sleeping bags. It was WAY TOO HOT for that on this trip!
