Our week started with Spring Break Camp at Barnes and Noble. Today the activity was to decorate cupcakes! I'm sure both kids have had a week's worth of sugar already! Can't wait to see what tomorrow's activity is going to be!

Poker for Dave!
Happy 40th Dave!!! Our sweet friend, Dave Higgs, turned 40 this week. Shari threw a poker birthday party for him. I have to say it was nothing short of perfect! Dave LOVES poker. So, what better way to celebrate than with a Vegas style poker party? Everyone dressed up in typical (funny) Vegas costumes. Don (money maker), Kendall (gangster-high roller), Dave (my wife forced me to wear this -birthday boy), Robert (the tacky tourist), Amber and John (just married in Vegas), and Anthony (yeah, I'll borrow a hat and glasses!). Not pictured here are me and Shari. I was the black jack dealer and Shari was the poker player's girlfriend! What a great night!! Too bad we had to "spring forward" and lose and hour of sleep!

Spring Open House
Last night was open house at Wilson. The 3rd graders acted out a live museum in the gym. A couple of months ago they chose an influential person in history to study. They gathered interesting facts about the person they were to "act out" in the museum. Each student dressed as their character and stood still until someone tapped them on the shoulder to make them "come alive". Grayson was William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. I was so proud of him! He knew his entire speech and had to recite it about a dozen times! Later in the evening we went to the classrooms to see their Lego creation of their story. It was a big night for these kids. They have been working so hard, it is definitely time for Spring Break!
The Old Gang
This is the "old" group of friends we started our Sunday School class with over 10 years ago!! Actually it was only us and Lanny and Amanda back then, but our core group grew fast! Mary and Connor are at Prestonwood now, Lanny and Amanda are at a church in North Richland Hills and I'm not sure where Julie worships now. It was so fun to catch up with all of them the other night at Uncle Julio's! From left to right - Bales, Huffs, Cates, Shortinos, Walker, Huggins - love them all!
Let's Make a Pizza!
A couple of weeks ago Jessie's class went to Cici's Pizza for a tour of the kitchen and lesson on how to make a pizza! I think this was her most exciting field trip! She had a great time with her friends. After they made their pizza, they got to enjoy it for lunch! Oh to be a kid again!!

Bath Time
After a long, hard afternoon of playtime, these stinky girls were in much need of a bath!!! Jessie, Charlotte and Addyson...
Ice Skating
Dante and Roman had their birthday parties at the Galleria Ice Rink. What fun!! This was the first time Grayson and Jessie had ever been on the ice. Grayson did a great job! Jessie was a little hesitant, but once she got a helmet to ease the fall, she gained her confidence! Happy Birthday Rivera boys!!
12 inches of Snow in Texas!!!
Seriously...12 inches of snow??? In Texas?? Yep! We got it last month. The kids had a blast and honestly, so did I!! We played for 2 days in the beautiful white stuff! I've never seen this in a place where I live and I'm quite sure my kids will never see it again unless they move up north!
Valentine's Day Party at School!
Garrison and Grayson
Sugar Anyone??? These two had enough to last a week!!! We made ice cream Sundays for the Valentine treat at school!
Princess Valentine Dinner and Dance
Kendall took Jessie to the Great Wolfe Lodge for the Daddy/Daughter Princess Valentine Dance! She was super excited to get a new dress and wear make-up for her special date night!!! My girl was so beautiful with her handsome date! They were treated to a fun night of good food, dancing and friends. A night I hope she remembers for years to come!!! I mean seriously, she is so gorgeous!
I Love My Valentine!!
Instead of the mother/son Valentine dance this year, we invited the gals that usually take their sons to the dance over to our house. We ate Italian food, played "how well do you know you mom/son" and ate lots of desserts! Fun was had by all! Can't wait for my date with Grayson next year!!
Fun with Friends!
School was out for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January) and we had friend's over! Kids had a blast! Nerf Guns and American Girl Dolls! Grayson, Sam, Stan, Jessie, Abby!We love our friends!

Pinewood Derby!!
Another derby, another loss! Our car didn't win, but what fun we had! You can't argue with friends, derby cars and racing!!! Grayson picked his design and color scheme by himself. That's really what it is all about...WHATEVER...I wanted to win! I can't admit that to him though! He was very proud of his car and we were very proud of him!
Santa Came Afterall,
Finally, Grayson fell asleep and Santa gave us a visit! What a wonderful morning we had waking up to these fantastic gifts! God provides... Grayson got GI Joe toys, an iTouch, games, and a Razor Spark Scooter. Jessie was excited about her games, puzzles, scooter and most of all her new custom bed for her American Girl doll, Rebecca! Kendall got a couple of new suits, and the basic underwear/sock combo! Mom received a new bike, helmet, UGG boots, and COACH sunglasses to name a few....score! Even our sweet baby, Tazzy, got in on the fun! New treats and a toy for him! After breakfast and gifts Grayson and Jess hurried outside to build snowmen in our left over snow! How wonderful!!!
CHRISTMAS EVE!
As always the kids were so excited about Christmas Eve. Church, dinner at a fabulous Mexican restaurant, singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and opening a present. It is so funny to me that they haven't figured out yet that the gift is going to be Christmas PJ's!!! We watched a movie, had popcorn and tried desperately for Grayson to go to sleep. It was at least 2 a.m. before he cried himself to sleep!!! Excitement gets the adrenaline going, I guess! Merry Christmas kiddos!
