Get Your Kicks on Route 66

I worked in Oklahoma today and got to travel along the Historic Route 66. Nothing really interesting, but it is cool to say that I drove it from Tulsa to Sapulpa! There were alot of old car dealerships, hamburger joints and antique stores that looked cool. I felt like singing "Life is a Highway" and watching "Lightning McQueen"! I wish I would have had my camera to take a picuture of the old road signs, but I didn't even take my cell phone with me today!!! I feel like I left the house without my pants on!

Jessie had the opportunity to "model" for Images 4 Kids a couple of weeks ago. They are a photography company that takes school pictures in the area. She is going to be used in their marketing material as advertisement. She had a great time with the photographer and loved changing clothes to have her picture made. Her smile is beautiful if I say so myself!!

Back to School Brunch with the Girls!

The gals and I enjoyed a little morning brunch at Shari's once all the kids were off to school.
Cheers!!

The First Day of School

Check out my big girl in her uniform!!! She is so proud and couldn't wait to get to school. She had a great day in Ms. Ashley's K1 class. Grayson had a good day too. He really likes Ms. Kautz. I pray that this will be a great school year for the both of them.

Gearing Up for the First Day of School...

Only 11 1/2 more hours until school officially starts back!! It's 8:30 p.m. and the kids are in their own beds (even Jessie). I am so proud of Kendall and me for sticking to the schedule tonight!

Grayson is very excited to be a second grader. And thankfully, Jessie is excited about moving up to K1 at Primrose. Today has been spent getting that first school outfit ready. Jessie will be in uniforms this year and right now she can't wait! I hope the excitement doesn't fade when she realizes she is wearing navy, khaki, red and white everyday!

I'm off to pack a lunch for Grayson and for the first time in a long time, Kendall and I are going to bed early too!!

Promotion Sunday

Grayson and Kyler start their craft project
Good job on the pancakes guys!
Jessie's class having snacks after singing, bible story and crafts
Grayson came in to help the kids with play dough

It's that time of year when the kids promote to the next class in Sunday School. Grayson's group got to make pancakes then went on to arts & crafts, music and their lesson. He really enjoyed it. Jessie moved in to Mrs. Hair's class with her friends. They had a great time today too. I am so thankful that my kids love to go to church!

Happy VERY Late Birthday to Kyler!

Kyler West turned 7 in January. Yes, January. We celebrated his birthday at the aquatic center water park today. Check out the videos at the bottom. Grayson is so cute jumping in the pool, Eric is just funny!

August Birthdays

August is a big month for birthdays in our families. Cate Huff turned 4, Natalie Biggs turned 6, and CJ turned 1! Here are a couple of pics that my mom sent of Natalie and CJ enjoying their birthday cakes!

RAIN, RAIN...PLEASE STAY!

Finally, it rained last week!! The kids went straight outside to play when they saw the water. Most people hate rain but I welcomed it. My yard did too!

The Last Basketball Game of the Summer!!!

Grayson's last basketball game of the summer league was last Saturday! I hate to admit that we are thrilled it is over. It was like watching the Bad News Bears of Basketball!! After the game they had a party at Cici's Pizza and got trophies for their efforts. Thanks to Kiki for his patience in coaching the kids!

Neighborhood Bowling Party

We usually see our neighbors all the time. But with the summer heat and busy schedules, we have stayed indoors if we are home. So instead of the usual block party we decided to go bowling at Main Event last Friday night. The kids had a ball! We learned we will never be able to form a neighborhood bowling team - none of us were very good!!!

Jessie enjoys the pizza
Silly little boys!
Come on Kendall, somebody needs to hit the pins!
Maguire, the camera is over here!
This ball is too heavy!
Kenny is smiling because he bowled a spare!

Bye Terrance!

In mid June we were blessed with a new friend, Terrance Tipps. From North Carolina came this sweet spirited, fun loving kid to Coppell. He was here for the summer doing an internship with a radio station. We brought him to church one Sunday and it was like we had all known him forever. We had a going away/swim party for him last Sunday night at Sheila and David's house. We will miss you T-man! Keep in touch!

Now David, you know Eric did all the cooking!

Our Weekend Getaway

Last weekend Kendall and I had a much needed weekend away at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine. We had a great time together with good food, dancing, people watching and well, you know :)! The kids stayed home with Jessie's newest and most favorite best friend, Laura. Can you believe the kids asked if we could go away for one more night?!
