PEACE BEGINS WITH A SMILE...

"Do all the good you can, By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can, In all the places you can,
At all the times you can, To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can." -John Wesley

You're not going to my birthday party...

This is Jessie's famous line right now when she gets mad at me. I have been officially uninvited about 13 times now. I don't think she realizes that without me, there is no party! It was quite pitiful tonight when she said it as she was crying, holding her stuffed dog and cat, standing in the middle of the kitchen. Oh, the mind of a three year old!

Can I Get a Ride??

I let Grayson ride his bike home from school today while I walked behind him. Wilson Elementary doesn't seem so far when you drive in the car. But try to keep up with a 6 year old on a bike! Whew. I'm tired!
Grayson shows off his new haircut! At least, what's left of his hair!

Genesis 1:1, 11 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yeilds seed, and the fruit tree that yeilds fruit according to its kind whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.
I traveled through East Texas today where I got to witness God's beauty along Interstate 20.

My Special Day...
I had a great time with the kids today. After church we went for a picnic in the park. We saw some friends there and all the boys ended up in the creek looking for frogs. Good thing we had a blanket for Grayson to wrap up in - the water was cold! Jessie didn't dare get wet, but she was sure interested in seeing what the "stinky boys" were doing. Afterward, we came home and I took a nap while Kendall played outside with the kids. Happy Mother's Day to me!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I hope every mom who reads this will have a wonderful mother's day with their kids. I know I will!

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Last week we were fortunate enough to join our friends in Vegas for Marco's retirement party. We met a lot of people and had a great time. The weather was perfect for hanging out by the pool all day Friday. On Saturday we bowled in a charity fundraiser bowling tournament. I am a better bowler than I thought! And of course, Kendall was really good. He's good at every sport.

I Love Bon Jovi

I can't believe it has been 20 years since my last Bon Jovi concert. This was worth the wait though!

My Fifteen Minutes of Fame...

Don't you hate those people who tend to stalk the famous when they are out among the regular folks in a restaurant or store?? You know, with a camera, asking them to take pictures with them, etc...I hate that! Now, check out my pics below!
